Important message for those patients who use SystmOnline - be aware of an official looking email asking you to click a link to log in because 'we are changing the system and need to update'.  SystmOnline has NOT sent emails and this is a scam.  Please contact the surgery if your online access is affected. We are looking for people to join our Patient Representative Committee, the group meets 4 times a year.  Please leave your details with reception if you are interested and the Practice Manager will be in contact.

We are looking for people to join our 'Practice Supporter' team to help during activities and signpost others to these. If this interests you or if you have any skills you may be able to use to help the practice, please email harveypracticeps@outlook.com for more information.

Nurse Practitioners

Mrs Andrea Romans (f)

Andrea initially qualified as a District Nurse at Southampton University and after many years in practice went on to complete her Nurse Practitioner Training at Bournemouth University.  She is a Non-Medical prescriber and holds a Diploma in Primary Health Care.  She holds regular surgeries at the practice seeing a variety of ailments, she is clinically supervised by the GPs at the practice.  Outside of work Andrea is an avid gardener, enjoys reading and going to the theatre and walking her dog on sunny days!

Nurses

Practice nurses are qualified and registered nurses. They can help with health issues such as family planning, healthy living advice, blood pressure checks and dressings. The practice nurses run clinics for long-term health conditions such as asthma or diabetes, minor ailment clinics and carry out cervical smears.

Healthcare Assistants

Healthcare Assistants support practice nurses with their daily work and carry out tasks such as phlebotomy, blood pressure checks, NHS Health Checks and new patient checks. They may act as a chaperone when a patient or doctor requests one.

The surgery provides an in house phlebotomy clinic for those patients who find it more difficult to travel to Poole or Wimborne Hospital.
