IMPORTANT SPRING BOOSTERS UPDATE

Dear Patients

As you will most likely be aware, the Spring Covid-19 Booster Programme has commenced. The Spring boosters will be offered 182 days (6 months) from the last booster to the following groups:

  •     Those aged 75+ (including 74yos who turn 75 on or before 30.06.22)
  •     Those aged 12+ AND immunosuppressed
  •     Housebound patients who fall into one of the two above groups
  •     Care Home residents in homes for Older people.

We are pleased to announce that we will be part of the next step of the vaccination programme, however there will be some changes to the way we have previously operated with regard to bookings and invites.

The Hamworthy Club has been added to the National Booking System (NBS), therefore all appointments will need to be booked via 119 or by visiting https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/coronavirus-vaccination/book-coronavirus-vaccination/ . Any booking queries can now be directed to the National Booking System (NBS). Our Reception Teams will be unable to help you with this.

Our clinics are now available beginning on Wednesday 6th April. Alternatively, there are numerous other sites available, including Poole Ferry Port and local pharmacies.

As previously, we will NOT be accepting walk-ins – strictly pre-booked appointments only.

Please note that invites will NOT be sent from us at the surgery. You will receive a letter from the NHS when you reach the 182 days reminding you to book an appointment with the necessary information provided.

Lastly, if you or someone you know are newly housebound and unable to get out to a vaccination site and fall into one of the eligible categories, please let the surgery know so that we can ensure a nurse visit is arranged to administer the booster. If you have previously had Covid vaccinations at home, please be reassured you will be on our list to receive a Spring booster if you are eligible.

We look forward to welcoming you back to The Hamworthy Club once again.

Many thanks,

Poole North Vaccination Team
