URGENT UPDATE - 02 September 2021

A supplier to the NHS has advised us of a global shortage of some equipment used for taking blood tests.

Anyone who needs a test for urgent health problems, will still get one but where your clinician recommends that it’s safe to do so, then you may be asked to come back for a test at a later date, or your appointment may be rescheduled.

Given the nature of the shortage, we cannot give an exact date for when the test will be rescheduled, but please be assured that if your condition or symptoms require it, then you will get a test, and we will be re-booking your test when supplies become more easily available.

If your condition or symptoms change or get worse, please contact the NHS as you would normally.

Latest Update - 24 August 2021

As we approach September, arrangements for the forthcoming Winter Flu Clinics have been set in place.

Our Flu Clinics for those aged 65+ will be held on the morning of Saturday 2nd October at The Memorial Hall (Broadstone) and Saturday 9th October at The Lantern (Merley) to coincide with our anticipated delivery of the Flu vaccines. More dates may be released depending on patient demand.

Further dates for those aged 16-64 with underlying heath conditions and those aged 50-64 will be released at a later date.

We can however confirm that Flu vaccines and Covid-19 booster will NOT be co-administered. This decision has been made as we await further guidance on the booster programme from NHS England. We have therefore chosen to prioritise the Flu Programme to avoid any unnecessary delay to our patients.

Please be assured that if you are eligible for the Flu vaccination, the Practice will make contact with you to offer an appointment over the coming weeks.

Further information regarding the Covid-19 Booster Programme will be released within the next month.

Many thanks

Latest Update - 27 July 2021

As we approach the end of July, we are very proud to report that we have now, across Poole North Primary Care Network, administered over 69,000 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.

We have now completed our final first doses clinic and continue to provide second doses to those patients who previously attended The Hamworthy Club. We kindly ask that if you have an appointment that you no longer wish to attend or are unable to attend, that you please cancel this in advance to give us the opportunity to offer the time to another patient.  We do understand however on occasions, unexpected circumstances render this difficult.

If you have not yet received a first dose, please visit in order to book. Walk-in clinics are also available. These can be found at

Second doses will continue to be administered 8 weeks post first dose. We are NOT able to bring second vaccines forward unless there is a clinical reason for it to be given any earlier. i.e. prior to immunisation treatment or transplant.

If you have received your first vaccination at The Hamworthy Club more than 8 weeks ago and have not yet received an invite to book your second dose, please email Please DO NOT ring the surgery, our Reception team is not able to deal with COVID-19 vaccine appointments.

NHS COVID-19 Vaccine Passports can be obtained via the NHS App or by calling the COVID-19 line on 119. Please note the surgery is unable to provide these passports. If you are having issues with the app, please either contact or call 0300 303 5678.

We would also like to take this opportunity to remind all patients that The Hamworthy Club is an extension of the Practice and therefore politely ask that patients attend their vaccine appointments wearing a face covering and continue to follow social distancing guidelines. We are extremely grateful for your cooperation in this matter in order to keep our most vulnerable patients and staff safe.

Many thanks
