I have a keen interest in patient wellbeing and offer a safe space in which everyone can be heard, and have the help they need both emotionally and practically to access support in the community and to live a happy and healthy life.
My name is Cathy and I am a Social Prescriber based at The Harvey Practice.
I like to spend time with my family and my dog and enjoy walking on the local heathland and beaches.
I enjoy dancing, sea swimming and paddle boarding on the river stour, and I love to travel and explore new places.
A Social Prescriber is:
- Someone you can talk to confidentially
- Practical, supportive and non-judgemental
- Able to help you make decisions with what is important to you
- Someone who can support you throughout the journey
What can we help with?
- Getting involved in local groups, social activities and support groups
- Accessing befriending services
- Support around housing, benefits and financial matters
- Helping with accessing transport options
- Finding out about volunteering opportunities
With one to one help, we can enable you to access to a range of non-medical local activities, social groups, services and advice based on needs and interests. Whatever is important to you, we will support you to find the help that works for you.
Who can we support?
Anyone over the age of 13 including:
- People with depression or low mood
- High levels of anxiety
- Low in confidence or self-esteem
- long-term conditions
- Socially isolated – having little or no support
- Unemployed-out of work or unable to work owing to sickness
- Those experiencing bereavement or loss
- Carers or ex-carer
- Parents - including single parents
- People interested in finding new hobbies or interests
